Collection: Philodendron

Philodendron is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the Araceae family. It has about 489 species, according to the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families as of September 2015. However, different sources may have different numbers. The genus is the second-largest in the Araceae family, after Anthurium. Many species of Philodendron are still unknown and not described by taxonomists. They are popular as ornamental and indoor plants. The name Philodendron comes from the Greek words philo- meaning 'love, affection' and dendron meaning 'tree'. Philodendron is also the common name for this genus in English.

ฟิโลเดนดรอน ชนิดนี้เป็นไม้พุ่มขนาดเล็ก มีจุดเด่นอยู่ที่สีของใบเป็นสีเขียวที่มีเอกลักษณ์ ในใบอ่อนจะมีสีเขียวอ่อนปนเหลืองและค่อย ๆ เปลี่ยนเป็นสีเขียวเข้มเมื่อใบแก่ เส้นกลางใบใหญ่แต่มีสีอ่อน บริเวณโคนก้านใบและโคนดอกมีสีแดงอมชมพู มีดอกสีขาวออกบริเวณซอกใบ ลำต้นสูงประมาณ 50-60 เซนติเมตร สามารถปลูกได้ทั้งในร่มและกลางแจ้ง แต่ต้องปลูกในดินที่สามารถระบายน้ำได้ดี
